My Garden and the Rabbits

Well today it finally quit raining and I am so glad. Now when it dry's out I can get into my veg. garden to hoe the weeds that the rain had help to grow. I was looking out my window and I saw a little hopper (rabbit) in my veg. garden and he looked to be trying out several of my plants. So I went out to investigate just what the little hopper was chomping on. To my surprise he was having a feast on my Okra. I shooed him off by clapping my hands and he took off, for how long I don't know. As I was investigating the damage I noticed he had chomped off 6 of the plants right to the ground. Since I do not have a fence around the little garden I will have to go and put up a chicken wire fence to keep the little hopper's out of the garden.
So off we go to Rural King shopping for fencing this Saturday morning. I hope we get it up before any more of my garden gets eaten up.

I hope everyone has a lovely Weekend. And go out there and plant something!

and 1/4 cup of macadamia nuts or whatever kind of nuts you like, chopped.

Mix all together.

Pour into 9x13 pan and then
Lick the bowl.

cook at 3:50 temp for 25 minutes

THURSDAY TABLESCAPE - ITALY'S PASTA!

Welcome to Tablescape Thursday - Italy's Pasta tablescape. I am so glad to see all of you and I just can't wait to see all of the tablescapes on Susan blogs so after you have visited here make sure you go to Susan http://betweennapsontheporch/ and see all the tablescapes that await you

Today I am bring a little bit of Italy with a Pasta tablescape.

The table cloth and napkins are plaid gingham material. I love the country look it has to it and the blue and white go so well with a country setting.

I sat the pasta bowl's in some white Southern Living at HOME salad plates and used white southern living at home salad bowl's. I don't know about anyone else but I like a little salad with my Pasta.

The Pasta set is made in Italy and my sister gave me this as a gift.I have always loved the color in the pasta bowl's.The little country setting. And of course we could not have wine without are wine glasses and terracotta wine cooler. The cooler and wine glasses are from Southern Living at HOME. I think these glasses are so beautiful I have shown them in several tablescapes. They have a notch on the stem and are very delicate. I did bring into a little french with my farmer Santos and gardener Santos. These bring a very country look to our table setting. I used the maze miniature jar as a flower vase. I think it looks very good with the flowers. The jar is a Southern Living at Home

item I purchased.

In all my scape's you will see a lot of Southern Living at HOME products. I love the style this company puts out with there table ware and wall art. I also still do some selling for them. So as I've been selling I have accumulated a lot of their products. I love showing them off and I hope you enjoy seeing them.

This shot is of the little jug in the middle as a center piece. I put yellow and red flowers in. This picture shows off the pasta bowl's and Santos I also have a butter dish on the table. What is pasta without bread.

This is the terracotta wine cooler. This is very nice to have it, keeps the wine cool for hours.
This is also Southern Living at HOME. There is a wine book on the table that has recipes insides and along tells about what kind of wine goes with.

These are my everyday glasses. I have had them for sometime and I never get tired of liking them. These came from crate and barrel. As you can see they are blue at the top and then as you go down they turn clear glass.

Aren't these bowl's cute. Look at all the color. I especially love the blue.

Here is the marking on the back of the big pasta bowl.

I love this glass pitcher. It also had a glass stirrer. This is a Southern Living at HOME item. and I thought it fit in really well with the design for this Italy' pasta scape

These are the making for the French Santos. These were also given to me as a gift for my birthday by my sister. They have all kinds of Santos but I loved these the most.

Farmer Santos is carrying a hen in a cage and a basket of eggs. Isn't he so cute. His clothes are made of vintage material

Here she is my favorite Santos Gardner. with her plant and pitchfork.

I hope you loved seeing this as I did putting it all together.

This is the wine glass and if you click on you should be able to see the notch on the glass

Here is the Southern Living at HOME pitcher with stirrer. Very country and very pretty.

I want to thank all of you in coming by and visiting my tablescape. Please click on the follow me. So you can see what I will be up to next. Well I have to run to check out everyone tablescapes.

IT'S FOODIE FRIDAY - DOWN HOME COOKING!!

Hello everyone, this is my first Foodie Friday. I want to thank http://designsbygolleen/ for having Foodie Friday. Stop by Design By Golleen to see all the interesting recipes!!!

Now a little about me before I start.

I am from Southern Indiana in the city of Evansville we are just across the river from Kentucky.
Being so close we have families in both states and because of that we have a lot of the same recipes with just a little difference in them. With me saying this I will say
the only thing I don't have in this country dinner is corn bread and that is a shame on me. hah, hah.

I hope you enjoy what I am fixing. Mr B loves this meal and will be happy with what I have fixed for him at the end.

Menu:
Turkey Patties,
Milk Turkey Gravy
Cook cabbage
Garlic Whipped Potatoes
Strawberry Shortcake with Cool Whip

These are all the ingredients you will use for your Down Home Country Dinner

These are the ingredients to make the cabbage.

I used Honeysuckle ground white all natural turkey. I added Wild tree rancher steak rub which was very good. You can use whatever spices you want. Pat them into patties.
I used Wild tree grapeseed oil for frying these patties

I cut the potatoes in quarters if they are big I will cut them smaller then I cover with
water and add salt. Boil for about 15 minutes or until you can put a fork through the
potatoes.

These ingredients and spices were added to this cabbage dish.
1 medium head of cabbage - cleaned
3 stalks of celery - diced medium
3/4 onion - Valida
10 carrots cubed
3 cut up strips of baccon
2 tsp garlic
2 cans chicken broth
1 TB grapeseed oil or canola oil
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp basil
1 tsp thyme

Cooked Cabbage. This dish is one of my favorite dishes. I started this on med. high and then after it was boiling for 5 minutes I turned it down to med. low and let it cook for about 15 minutes and then I turned it down to low and kept it there to cook covered until all the veg.
were done and then some.

I fried Turkey patties in a electric skillet at 250 degree's I used grapseed oil but you can use whatever oil you perfer.
10 minutes on each side depending on the thickness of the patties. Mine or quite thick.
The grapeseed oil is not as heavy as other oils but it doesn't burn on high heat.
It gives a nice mild taste to the patties.

With the garlic Whipped potatoes I poured out the water and added 1/2 stick of butter,
salt and pepper to taste and 1 tsp garlic whip until lumps are out.
I then added half and half about a 1/2 cup and whipped it up again with a beater then I added milk until Iget the thickness I want. About Medium thickness.

Turkey Milk Gravy. It was to die for. I think it was the best I have made yet.
I took the drippings from the fry patties and added some unbleached flour and
butter along with salt and pepper then I put some half and half in and then milk
to thin out the thickness but not to much you want it to be a medium thick.

Cooked cabbage and Grampa Santos

Garlic Whipped potatoes with milk Turkey Gravy

A plate filled for a Queen ( that would be me

WE are just about ready to sit down and start our dinner
Mr. B could not join me, he is still at work.
woo check out those turkey patties with Grandma Santos keeping a eye on them.

I picked up these Strawberries at Sam's and I had to do something really fast
they were going bad. So I put some cane sugar on them and called it Strawberry
Shortcake

Yummy, Strawberry Shortcake with Cool Whip
Mr. B is very happy
